Your website and marketing programs are either good or bad. There is no neutral, if your efforts are neutral, then they are not working (bad). Review, check, measure to be sure your programs are meeting your objectives. Remember that some marketing can actually degrade sales instead of enhancing them.
Make sure you marketing enhances your company's products, image and sales.

That is easier said than done, that is if you own your own business. When your leadership changes every year you have to re-educate them on what exactly your department does for the organization ... how it benifits the company ... then justify every penny spent to a person who still doesn't get it. Simple things ... turn into long and drawn out education sessions. By then you wasted valuable time and company money.

Robert, Excellent point about the need to honestly evaluate the performance of marketing activities. I suggest and encourage that the 4th item (after review, check and measure) is to take action. To often we report on performance to late in a campaign, and do not proactively measure then act accordingly. The best report is one that leads us clearly to an actionable outcome.
